I took a self-imposed break from all things social-media (facebook, twitter, this blog, reading blogs) for about 5 weeks or so. And yeah, I probably was spending too much time doing those things, so I decided to take a little time off and spend my time doing other things with my time.
I’d love to tell you that I read 5 books, wrote a screen play, got caught up with all the things I had been putting off in life. But alas, here are the highlights from my social-media vacation:
– Dumped coffee all over my laptop at Panera (like a moron)
– Got a new laptop (new to me, anyway)
– Moved (5 minutes away; still in Wooster)
– Broke 2 guitar strings, on separate weeks (pretty frustrating)
– Got up early to work out…8 times
– Lost my keys for a week (they were in my backpack the whole time)
– Lost my ipod for a day (during the week that I lost my keys)
Impressed? I sure am. I can’t believe that I functioned for an entire week without my keys. Anyway, I’m back in the blogosphere.
What happened in your world while I was gone?
Just wanted to send a shout out to my old roommate, Dave Ruiz. We roomed together during my 5th year @ Grace College. We shared a love of drums, action movies, and the George Foreman Grill. However, one of the few things we did not share was our willingness to get punched in the face repeatedly. But from the looks of his pics, he’s dishing it out a little more than he’s taking it. Congrats on the belt, my friend.
It’s time for me to hit the road for a little vacation. Headed to West Virginia with some friends and it should be a pretty sweet time. I hope I make it there, considering I tried to go last year and my car wouldn’t even make it 20 miles. Anyway, I’ll be back on Monday. Hoping for a good time of refreshment and relaxing (which will be nice considering once summer hits I will see neither of those.)
Something that’s been on my heart (and the heart of our Student Ministries department) has been this little girl. She is the niece of Michelle Ream (who works with Middle School) and has, well, not had it easy since the day she was born. It’s been bad news after bad news for this family and yet I get GREAT encouragement from reading their posts in their journal about God’s faithfulness.
She’s a living testimony of God’s hand and an inspiration to those who hear her story. So, if you have time, maybe you could shoot over to HER WEBSITE and drop the family a note and pray for them. You don’t have to know them. I know they would be encouraged by any words they receive. Thanks folks.
Well ladies and gents, I’ve arrived ( I know, 10 years late). Nevertheless, I’ve been working on some designs and things to make this actually look like something worth looking at. Anyway, check back and I’ll be actually posting about things besides the fact that I’m going to start posting. I hate those : )
Here’s the outline of our new youth addition outlined by the students in 7-12th grade. We expect God to do great things through these students as they use this building as a resource for building relationships with their lost friends and hopefully add to the Kingdom. Expected finish date: Fall ’08.
Check out our video we made for one of our messages that had to deal with “Control” It’s modeled after the show “The Office” (hence the title). So here it is, hope you like it.
